Farm Assistant - Animals, Vegetables and Flowers

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual that has a strong interest to learn all aspects of a small diverse farm. Concentration with the Dairy Goats but willing to work with the other parts of the farm where the help is needed. Physically capable to lift 50 lbs. and work ~4 hours per day, 5 days a week. Looking for someone that wants to build a partnership with us on the farm. We would like to have someone help us with implementing new ideas, and is a good listener and can take direction well.

 

Some of the work will involve the following but not limited to:

• Milking goats 2x a day 

• Bottle milk

• Cheese making

• Feed and care for adult and kid goats

• Cleaning barns

• Assist with kidding 

• Set up barns for kidding 

• Learn hoof trimming and health inspections 

• Care for chickens 

• Collect eggs, wash and box

• Help with vegetable harvest, wash and pack for markets 

• Weeding, watering and planting 

• Assist with farmers markets, setting up and breaking down (Thursdays & Fridays)
